Francis Tuttle Technology Center students claimed top honors during the Business Professionals of America Leadership Conference in New York City recently. The Web Site Design Team of David Elledge and Kathy Kelly, both from Yukon, and Kayla Gard and Michelle Korenbilt, both from Edmond, brought home gold medals, as did Cory Ogburn, a senior from Putnam City North, in JAVA Programming.
Members of the Web Application Team were National 2nd place winners. James Burris, Echo Carothers and Josh Willson, all from Oklahoma City, and Walter Jones, Jr., from Mustang, proudly displayed their medals. Finishing in the Nation’s Top 10 was Walton Chan, from Oklahoma City, in Payroll Accounting.
Francis Tuttle’s BPA student chapter received the Quality Chapter of Distinction award, in recognition of their outstanding community involvement and cooperation. Instructors Christy Whitfield, Marc Hill and Sally Ghotley were proud to each have students on the stage in New York City at the BPA National Leadership Conference.
More than 6,000 student delegates from across the nation participated in the national conference and business skill competitions. Business Professionals of America is a national organization for high school, college and middle school students preparing for careers in business and information technology.
