Ronald F. Homes is currently a Manufacturing Extension Agent for the Oklahoma Alliance for Manufacturing Excellence. In his current role, he helps small- and medium-sized manufacturers become progressively more successful in their marketplace. Ron has more than 20 years of international experience and brings that expertise to his clients. Before coming to the Alliance, he was employed as the Director of Pacific Rim Industrial Division for the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
He also held positions with Schlumberger Ltd in Lima, Peru, Tehran, Iran & Singapore and with United Oil & Gas Services Directional Drilling in Singapore, Thailand & Indonesia.
Ron served as consultant to the ASEAN Trade Development Project in Southeast Asia and represented the State of Oklahoma in the ASEAN area for trade development. He established the Pacific Rim Industrial Certification and Verification Division of ABS, the Classification Society of The United States. He also operated manufacturing facilities and service centers in eight Latin American countries, six Middle East countries, and six Pacific Rim countries.
Ron speaks fluent Spanish, Indonesian, Malay, Thai and Farsi. He is also an International Standards and Specifications Certified Expert and an ISO 9000 certification registrar, Pacific Rim. He served on the ISO standards committee and was also a U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration industrial standards advisor. He has served as an Advisor for Oklahoma City Port Authority Foreign Trade Zone applications and is the author of "Success in a Global Economy."
Ron serves on the Oklahoma Governor's International Team. He's a member of Who's Who in the Asia Registry and was selected as an Asian Wall Street Journal "Contributor's to the Developing Countries in Southeast Asia." Ron is also an ASEAN Trade Directorate, Standards and Specifications Advisory Council member, and finally, Ron was named a University of Central Oklahoma Outstanding Former Student in 2006.
