The CIW Associate Preparation Certification is ideal for you. This offering addresses the common core of internet knowledge, and shows you how to apply this knowledge. It prepares you to register as a CIW candidate and to take the CIW v5 Foundations exam. This offering uses official CIW v5 curriculum. It includes content on:
- Internet technologies and managements
- Networking technologies and skills
- Web page development tools and skills
- E-commerce practices
CIW Association Preparation offering is delivered entirely online, and is instructor-led. Your progress through the curriculum is guided by a qualified professional. This offering includes multiple practice exams to help you prepare to pass the CIW v5 Foundation exam (ID0-510) for certification as a CIW Associate.
Course One: Internet Business
This course is the first in a series of online courses developed to help prepare you to take the CIW Associate certification exam (Site Development and Network Technology courses also required). This course provides you with knowledge about using the internet-Web browsing, multimedia on the web, databases, search engines, e-mail, IT services, and tools, Internet security, and IT project management.
Course Two: Site Development
This course is the second in a series of online courses developed to help prepare you to take the CIW Associate certification exam (Internet Business and Network Technology courses also required). It provides you with knowledge about networking, the TCP/IP Suite and Internet addressing, internetworking servers, hardware and operating system maintenance, network security, and IT career opportunities.
Course Three: Network Technology
This course is the third in a series of online courses developed to help prepare you to take the CIW Associate certification exam (Internet Business and Site Development courses also required). It provides you with knowledge about Web site development, markup language, XHTML coding, hyperlinks, tables, Web forms, image techniques, frames, GUI HTML editors, advanced Web technologies, and e-commerce practices.

Workload
This is an intensive offering requiring about 15 hours per course week. The time commitment for these courses will vary depending on your input, needs, and personal study habits.

Students can order textbooks and software from our online bookstore. All materials should be ordered to arrive prior to the first day of class.
Note: Students in the U.S. should order 2-3 weeks in advance. Students outside the U.S. should order 4-6 weeks in advance.

Tuition Refund
- Tuition refunds must be requested 3 business days prior to the course start date.
- Refunds requested less than 3 business days before course start will be subject to a $10 processing fee.
- Any refund must be requested prior to the beginning of the second week of the course. No refunds issued after the second week has started.
- When paying by check, please allow ten (10) banking days for refund processing.
- When paying by cash, VISA or MasterCard, your refund will take approximately five (5) business days.
- Full refund available for classes cancelled by Francis Tuttle.
- Textbook refunds not available. (if applicable)
College Credit Information

Provide a copy of CompTia CIW certification(s) to OCCC.

OCCC will grant course equivalency credits for passing the CompTia CIW certification exams (toward a Computer Sciences Degree).

OCCC will apply the course equivalency credits to the student's transcript after the student successfully completes a minimum of 12 credit hours at OCCC.
-
The credit posts with a final grade of "S" on the student's transcript. This does not affect the student's GPA but allows the credit to be used towards degree completion.
