Nationwide shortages in the nursing profession have increased the demand for practical nurses in environments where patient conditions are stable. Francis Tuttle Technology Center offers a variety of enrollment options leading to a practical nurse certificate and the ability to become licensed.
The Francis Tuttle Technology Center practical nursing faculty believes the knowledge acquired in any nursing program is only a beginning. The practical nurse seeking to remain competent and mobile in the profession must be committed to lifelong learning. It is essential for the practical nurse to know how to acquire new knowledge outside a formal educational setting. Therefore the instructional focus of the program is on the process of learning how to learn.
Francis Tuttle Technology Center Practical Nursing students learn in an environment that features state-of-the-art technology, a large mini-hospital laboratory setting, and a Health Resource Center equipped with traditional and technology resources. This learning environment provides the students with an innovative, industry-driven educational experience that prepares them to provide quality health care.
Program success indicators are continually monitored by the faculty. Currently all of the success indicators meet or exceed the expected level of achievement. Student and Graduate surveys consistently report high levels of satisfaction with the learning experience. Employer surveys consistently indicate the newly hired graduates are well prepared for the role of the practical nurse.
