The Medical Office Technology program is designed to prepare you for entry-level employment in a medical, dental or hospital office setting. This program specializes in administration, with an emphasis in the practice of various medical office skills. Course offerings include medical terminology, medical coding, medical insurance, anatomy and physiology and law and ethics. You will complete classroom work using a personal computer. Current skills for word processing and medical office procedures are practiced. Medical Transcriptionists are medical language specialists who interpret and transcribe dictation by physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. They are self-disciplined and detail-oriented, working well under pressure and with time constraints, and exhibit ethical behavior. Topics of study include medical terminology, medical coding and transcription. Every time a patient receives health care, a record is maintained. Medical Coders specialize in coding of the patient's information for insurance purposes. The Medical Coder assigns a code to each diagnosis and procedure. Coursework includes medical terminology, medical coding, medical insurance, anatomy and physiology, and pathology.

Tuition Rates
No tuition for high school students.
Adult students pay standard rate of $800 per semester for full-time or $400 per semester for part-time.
